About flat6s
flat6s is a site for people who love cars. Its first section, How many on the road, shows how many of every British car make, model and version are still licensed for the road. It also shows how many have been declared off the road (SORN) and how each model’s numbers have changed over the years. The figures come from the Department for Transport’s vehicle licensing statistics, based on DVLA records, and are updated every quarter. A forum, news and events are planned next.
Where the data comes from
The vehicle figures come from the Department for Transport’s vehicle licensing statistics (tables VEH0120, VEH0124, VEH0160 and VEH0220), which are based on DVLA records. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
flat6s is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Department for Transport, the DVLA or any other government body.
We process the published tables to build these pages. For example, we join Great Britain figures (up to mid-2014) with UK figures (from late 2014), merge versions spelt in different ways, and group very small categories. Any errors from that processing are ours, not the Department for Transport’s.
About the figures
The figures are for general interest only. We aim to keep them accurate and up to date, but we don’t guarantee that they are complete, accurate or current. They may differ from other sources or from the latest government release. The source data has its own limits too, such as vehicles recorded under the wrong make, model or engine size. Please don’t rely on these figures to buy, sell, value or insure a vehicle, or for any other decision. As far as the law allows, flat6s accepts no liability for any loss arising from use of the information on this site.
